ISLAMABAD - Islamabad made eight runs without loss against Lahore Region Blues in their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2015-16 Round Six Pool-A match played here at Diamond Ground on Monday.
Islamabad skipper after winning the toss opted to bowl first. His decision paid off as Lahore were bundled out for 188 in 65.4 overs. M Ikhlaq made polished 67. Hassan Ali grabbed 4 for 48, Shahzad Azam Rana 3 for 47 and Hamza Nadeem 2 for 35.
AT Marghazar Ground, UBL made 277-6 against Port Qasim. Umar Siddiqui was the star of the day and was still at crease with unbeaten 104. Zohaib Shera captured 4 for 64 and Waqar 2 for 73.
In Pool-B match played at Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi were in cruise control against Fata, who lost six wickets for 34. Skipper Yasir Arafat captured 3 for 7 and Saad Altaf also chipped in with 3 for 26. Earlier, Yasir won the toss and decided to bat first. Once again Pindi batting flopped miserably as entire team were bowled out for meager 163 in 55.1 overs.
Aaqib Shah top scored with 46. Irfan Ullah picked 4 for 44. Asif and Raza took 2 wickets each conceding 20 and 48 runs, respectively.
At National ground, KRL made solid start against Wapda as they posted 12 without loss. Earlier, thanks to a sensational bowling by Test player Rahat Ali, Wapda were bowled out for 187 in 63.2 overs after asked to bat first. Rahat ripped through Wapda batting claiming 6 for 40 and Sadaf Hussain also chipped in with 2 for 55.
