Sri Lanka successfully defended a low score of 132 runs to beat Pakistan by 37 runs in their first Twenty20 international on Friday. Earlier, a three-wicket haul from Sohail Tanvir helped Pakistan restrict Sri Lanka to 132/7. He struck early for the visitors after removing the Sri Lankan top order of Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara in his opening spell. Tanvir finished with a spell of 3-12 after bowling his full quota of four overs. Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal scalped two wickets. A last-ditch effort from Thisara Perera helped Lankans reach 132. He top-scored with a 16-ball 32 not out.
