LAHORE – The first Inter-varsity 7s Rugby Championship is being organised by University of Management and Sciences (UMT) under the aegis of Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) here at the university premises today (Thursday).
Teams from UMT, LUMS, LSE, GCU Lahore, Punjab University, Lahore Garrison University, Garrison University and Defense Degree College are taking part in the event.
Senior national rugby player and education coach of PRU Shakeel Ahmed talking about the event said: “The purpose of organising this championship is to promote rugby culture in universities and UMT has great contribution in this regard.”
The one-day championship will start today (Thursday) at 10am and the final will be played at 4pm. Pakistan Rugby Union president Fawzi Khawaja will be chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
