Misbah, Wahab fifties pull Pakistan to 235

Brisbane- There was a glut of runs in Wellington earlier in the day, but things were significantly slower in Brisbane where Zimbabwe kept a lid on a Pakistan line-up which has yet to shift out of second gear at this World Cup. Only Misbah-ul-Haq and towards the end, Wahab Riaz, beat a trend of reckless shot selection and lapses in temperament to make important half-centuries in tricky conditions.

The ball moved off the seam and there was some grip for the spinners, which provided Zimbabwe's attack with the kind of assistance they enjoy. They needed something to go their way after being without their captain Elton Chigumbura for more than half the innings. He was helped off the field with a suspected quadricep tear in the 24th over and their management was hopeful he would still be able to bat if needed. With less than 240 to chase, Zimbabwe will hope he won't have to.
