Premier League Review - Leicester City

Team: Leicester City

Key players:

Jamie Vardy

One of the most under-rated forwards in England at the moment, Jamie Vardy played an instrumental role for Leicester City last season in their bid for survival. He was rewarded for all his efforts and sublime form with an England debut. At the age of 28, Vardy has enough experience on his side to lead the attack for Leicester. His pace and direct style of play caused plenty of trouble for Premier League defenders. There is plenty of room for improvement for him in the finishing department. If he is backed up by good counter-attacking aggressive style of play he can continue his form for Leicester and might help them survive another season.

• Robert Huth

Huth joined Leicester City from Stoke City on a permanent transfer following a successful loan spell, last season. The German spent the last four months on loan at the King Power Stadium helping them come out of the relegation zone and ending the season in a comfortable 14th position. The last nine games produced five clean sheets for Leicester, courtesy of the solid defensive pairing of Huth and Wes Morgan. The German should be the first name on the team sheet and if he can repeat what he achieved last season Leicester could push for a higher league position.

Summary:

Leicester City will be entering the next season without their best player from last season, Esteban Cambiasso, and their unsung hero, Nigel Pearson. His replacement, Claudio Ranieri, has been criticised by many as sub-par and not suitable for the task and he could possibly face the sack if he fails to hit the ground running. Leicester have also missed out on several key transfers and with everything going against them at the moment, chances of survival look bleak.

Predicted position: 18th
