LAHORE - Heera Ashiq will take on M Abid in the 1st Servis Lahore Open Tennis Tournament men's singles finals to be held today (Saturday) here at the PLTA complex Bagh-e-Jinnah here on Friday.
The event is being organised by PLTA while national coach Rashid Malik is tournament director. Chairman Servis Industries Arif Saeed will be chief guest at the occasion. In the first men's singles semi-final of the event, M Abid beat Ahmad Baber 6-3, 6-3 while in the second semi-final, Heara Ashiq defeated Tanvir Ashiq 6-4, 6-4 to qualify for the finals. In the ladies singles semi-finals, Khunnsha Baber outpaced Zargul 6-2, 6-4 in the first semi-final while Rida Khalid thrashed Mahnoor 6-2, 6-0 to enter finals.
In the U-10 first semi-final, Hamza Bin Rehan edged out Ahmad Saeed 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 while in the second semi-final, Natain Abbas beat M Saeed 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Hafiz Arbab Ali defeated Haris Irfan 6-4, 6-4 in the first semi-finals while Humble beat Hamza Bin Rehan 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. In the U-18 first semi-final, Ahmad Babar beat Mian Bilal 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 while in the second semi-final, M Ahmad beat Imad Amer 0-6, 6-2, 6-2.
