LAHORE - Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Monday honoured Pakistan street children football team with cash prizes at the Defence Club.
According to PFF spokesman, all the 10 members of the team receive of Rs 50,000 each.
PFF chief Faisal Saleh Hayat was the chief guest at the occasion and handed over cheques to the national heroes who won the bronze medal in the Street Children Football World Cup in Brazil.
PFF secretary Col (r) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi, Director Development and Competitions Pervez Saeed Mir, Director Projects and Clubs Col Farasat Ali, former Pakistan coach Tariq Lutfi, ex-Pak captain Ali Nawaz Baloch and representatives of Muslim Hands and Azad Foundation were also present on the occasion.
Sharing his views, the PFF chief said that he was excited with the superb performance of Pakistan’s street children who proved their mettle in the Street Children Football World Cup. “For me, it’s a big achievement, and it makes us and the entire nation proud. It’s our one of the major responsibilities to groom such a natural talent,” he added.
“The PFF will ponder over signing an MoU with Azad Foundation to groom such talented children by providing them world’s best coaches and facilities under a comprehensive training programme,” he concluded.
