Senior International Tennis from 11th

KARACHI The Pakistan Senior Tennis Association (PSTA), with the financial support of PSO, will organise the 13th PSO Senior International Tennis Championships here at Karachi Gymkhanas synthetic courts from October 11 to 17. This was announced here Saturday at a joint media conference which was addressed by former Pakistan international player Saeed Hai, who also holds a senior position in the PSTA, and brand manager PSO Sheikh Minhas. On the occasion, the PSTA secretary Khalid Rehmani said that five Indian players, who have not been issued visas yet, have reserved their seats in flights. He said that the PSTA had completed all the formalities for NOC for the visitors and hoped that they would be issued the visas by Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi by Wednesday. His optimism about issuance of visa to Indians came just 24 hours after concerned Pakistani ministries refused visa to an Indian snooker coach which was to be hired by the PBSA for training Pakistan teams. The PSTA, some years ago, managed to get some foreign players but they have failed to attract senior players even from Islamabad and Lahore to come and play here. Pakistan State Oil is sponsoring this world ranking Tennis Championship for last five years. Khwaja Saeed Hai thanked Gymkhana and the sponsor and presented the details of the event. The championship was approved by the ITF and the last date of entry is October 8. Events that would be organised during the competitions are 35 plus singles/doubles, 45 plus singles/doubles and 55 plus singles/doubles.
