ISLAMABAD - Sheer negligence on part of government is the basic reason behind decline of sports in Pakistan.
Tayyab Aslam returned home after retaining Asian Junior Squash title but to utter disappointment, neither he was welcomed at airport nor any one bothered to say a few words of appreciation. Only PSF president Air Chief Marshal Tahir Raifque Butt recognised his services and and rewarded him. Talking to The Nation, Tayyab said: “I worked really hard to retain Asian Junior title but in return, I earned just disappointment. It is my firm belief, if given same importance like cricket or just a few words of appreciation by the Prime Minister and IPC Minister, our athletes will start winning medals in every other sport.”
