LAHORE - Pakistan top tennis player and FFC sports ambassador Ushna Suhail showcased her talent by winning the Punjab Open Women Tennis title after defeating Rida Khalid in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 here at the Bagh-e-Jinnah tennis courts on Monday. Ushna demonstrated a higher level of game and dominated with controlled shots to all parts of the court and won the heart of the crowd with her anticipation and up and down sprints to pick some low balls close to the line. Ushna was too quick in defence and cut down Rida’s efforts to engage her in long rallies. “It was a good win and I enjoyed playing tennis under perfect conditions,” said Ushna in her post match comments. “I gradually built on to my early lead and I tried to remain focused which helped me in winning the final,” she added.–Staff Reporter
