LAHORE - Punjab secretary sports youth affairs and archaeology M Saqib Aziz and Director General Sports Punjab Dr M Saleh Tahir on Monday visited the under construction swimming pool, tennis courts and multi-purpose hall at Nishtar Park Sports Complex here and directed the concerned authorities to compete the facilities as soon as possible.
The secretary sports was given detailed briefing regarding the three facilities by the DG SBP who apprised him regarding the pace of work and completion of these projects in phases. “These facilities will help in further boosting the overall standards of sports in the city,” said the secretary sports adding their timely completion would help in diverting youth’s energies in right direction keeping them away from social evils.
He urged the concerned authorities to ensure quality work to be carried out in a transparent way. The chief architect and other officials from CM&W, environment science department, PHA and forest departments were also present.
Dr Saqib pointed out that Punjab government had evolved a comprehensive plan to build sports infrastructure across the province to promote sports and sports facilities are being built in different parts of Punjab under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
