Umar Akmal, Aizaz Cheema vow to defeat England

LAHORE – Pakistan middle order batsman Umar Akmal says though the chances of scoring century at number six are less yet he would try his best to steer the team to victory with his good performance during the series against England in UAE.
Talking to the reporters during the second day of the training camp under the supervision of interim coach Mohsin Khan here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday, Umar Akmal said: “There are less chances of making century at number six but I am striving hard to play an important role in the team’s victory. I am already batting on number six so it will be easy for me to bat at the place and contribute as much as I can with my performance.”
Umar, who recently came back in Test cricket, said that he was very happy and he credited coaches and teammates for his comeback in the Test cricket.  “The credit of my Test comeback goes to coach and teammates who really helped me a lot in this regard and I am struggling for gaining good form during the England series,” he stated.
He further said that the team’s good show in the recent series was the result of unity and team work which was the only key to success. “The team work and unity are the main things which are helping Pakistan team to win against one of the best teams of the world and this spirit will be maintained during the England series,” he added. “Pakistan team will perform well during the series against England and try its best to win the series in great style,” Umar concluded.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Aizaz Cheema taking to the reporters said that the wickets of UAE were same like Pakistan’s so it would be very beneficial for Pakistan players. “It will be a great chance for Pakistan players to get maximum benefits of UAE wickets which are similar to Pakistani wickets. I am also trying hard to utilise this opportunity and get maximum wickets,” Aizaz said.
He further said that every player had some pressure regarding the series but Pakistani players had good experience of UAE wickets so they would overcome it easily. “My target is not a single player but the whole England team and I am endeavouring to achieve my aim through good training at training camp and my fitness will also help me a lot to guide my team to impressive victories,” Aizaz concluded.
