Khawaja Ruhail joins Afghanistan NCA as head trainer

LAHORE - Pakistan’s Khawaja Ruhail Ali has joined the National Cricket Academy (NCA) of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) as head trainer strength and conditioning and vows to make Afghanistan players mentally and physically strong.
Khawaja Ruhail is one of the best Asian trainers, who has top level international certifications of his field, as he is certified from National Academy of Sports Medicine USA as sports performance enhancement specialist and level-II from Strength and Conditioning and Association Australia.
Pakistan’s pearl of sports fitness is eager to excel in Afghanistan Cricket Board as head trainer. “I have wide experience of strength and conditioning and want to impart put my entire knowledge and experience in the Afghanistan players, who are committed to prevail in the world of cricket. I will train them and try to prepare them well for the big matches against big opponents. I hope after hard working and planned practice, they will feel improvement in their games and skills and perform better at international level.” said Ruhail, while talking to The Nation.
The sports trainer, who has worked with Habib Bank Limited (HBL) as professional trainer, is a specialist in designing innovative fitness programme enhancement of cricket. “I will design the best plan for the Afghanistan players, which will certainly suit them and help in improving their performance, which will be evident in their matches against top cricketing teams.”
Replying to a query regarding Afghanistan team’s performance during the World Twenty20, Ruhail said: “Yes, Afghanistan team played exceptionally through the Twenty20 mega event and proved hard nuts to crack. There is always room for improvement and I think after working on them, better and satisfactory results can be expected.”
Praising the cooperation of his mentors, Ruhail thanked NCA Director Aizad Hussain Syed, coach Kabir Khan and senior sports journalist Sarfraz Ahmad for encouraging and motivating him to go for a bright future. “Due to my mentors’ all-out support, I managed to get this spot in Afghanistan Cricket Board. I will try my best to give my best and help the Afghanistan team touch the new heights in the world of cricket.”
