ISLAMABAD – Raheel Majeed helped Asif Memorial thrash Islamabad Hawks by 9 wickets in Pool A match to qualify for the semifinals of the Super-8 round of Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) Cricket Championship 2016, here at the Bhutto Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Put into bat first, Hawks could score 209-7 in 40 overs with Farhan Ullah scoring 34 and Riaz Khan 30. Tauseef Safdar took 2-20 and Ali Imran 1-11. In reply, Raheel hammered unbeaten 132 and Salman Haider unbeaten 59 to help Asif Memorial achieve the target in 31.4 overs losing just one wicket. Asif Memorial Club president Hassan Asghar and secretary Ch Ajmal Sabir congratulated the team for achieving milestone while the secretary also presented Rs 5,000 cash to Raheel and also announced Rs 10,000 cash for the team members.
