FIFA to present handsome awards in the final

LAHORE Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has said that a representative from FIFA will present the winner of the event with the World Cup Trophy. The winning team will be provided with the Trophy during a ceremony immediately following the final whistle, and will return the Trophy to FIFA on demand or prior to departure from South Africa, whichever is the sooner. At this time, the winning team will be provided with the replica trophy. Faisal, who is in South Africa to adjudicate Disciplinary Cases of World Cup South Africa 2010 as Member of FIFA Disciplinary Committee detailed for this historic mega event added that FIFA was responsible for engraving the Trophy with the name of the winning team while the winning nation shall take all reasonable steps, at its own expense, to ensure the security and safety of the Trophy and replica trophy while they are in the possession of the winning participating member association. Fifty medals will be presented to each of the top three teams in the final competition, i.e. gold medals to the winners, silver medals to the runners-up and bronze medals to the team ranked third. One medal will be presented to each of the officials who officiate at the play-off for third place and the final. At the conclusion of the World Cup Golden Shoe will be awarded to the player who scores the most goals. If two or more players score the same number of goals, the number of assists (as determined by the members of the FIFA Technical Study Group) will be decisive. Each goal is worth three points and each assist one point. If two or more players are still equal after taking into account the number of assists, the total minutes played in the tournament will be taken into account, with the player playing fewer minutes ranked first. A Silver Shoe and a Bronze Shoe for the second and third highest goalscorers will also be awarded. The Golden Ball will be awarded to the best player of the final competition on the basis of a vote taken among the media accredited for the event. A Silver Ball and a Bronze Ball will be awarded to the second and third best players.A trophy will be awarded to the best goalkeeper in the tournament, as selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group while Most Entertaining Team. The Most Entertaining Team will be chosen by a public poll on FIFA.com.
