Nasir beaten in Int’l Squash final

ISLAMABAD - Nasir Iqbal went down 2-3 fighting against qualifier Egyptian Ali Faraq in the final of the $25,000 CCI International Squash Championship 2014 in Mumbai on Sunday.
Talking to The Nation, Nasir said: “I tried my level best to prevail in the final against the highly-experienced lad, but I failed to stop Ali from lifting the title. It was my first ever $25,000 event final and I am quite satisfied with my performance. Although I lost yet I could hold my head high.”
“The first game started at high tempo. We exchanged some high-quality squash before Ali took the first game 11-8. I bounced back to win the second game 11-7 and then third 11-8, but after that it was all Ali, who dominated the fourth and fifth game winning them 11-4 and 11-9, thus lifted the title,” Nasir concluded.
