Bangladeshi batsmen could not capitalize on the momentum provided by their bowlers and crumbled against spin, losing wickets at short intervals as they lost the second T20 International against an inexperienced South African outfit.
South Africa won the toss and elected to bat once more, handing debut to legspinner Eddie Leie in place of Rabada. Bangladesh, on the other hand, gave Rony Talukdar a chance with his first ever T20 international match, who slotted in place of Sohag Gazi.
Quinton De Kock and AB Deviliers came out to bat and went off to a flyer, scoring 93 runs in the first 10 overs. De Kock, however, got caught just three balls later off Arafat Sunny. JP Duminy and AB deviliers each fell an over later as Nasir Hussain bagged two wickets in two balls. David Miller scored 30 runs meanwhile; Riley Russow scored 19 off just 6 balls as South Africa reached a challenging total of 169.
In the pursuit of 170, the Bangladeshi openers got off to a good start with Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar adding 45 runs for the first wicket before Tamim Iqbal perished playing a wrong shot off pacer Wayne Parnell. Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hassan and Sabbir Rehman soon followed as the middle order crumbled against spin with Aaron Phangiso and debutant Eddie Leie bagging 3 wickets each.
Bangladesh only managed to score just 138 runs as South Africa strangled the Bengali Tigers with quality spin and controlled fast bowling. South Africa won the match by 32 runs sealing the series 2-0.
