Nasir in NZ Squash C’ship quarters

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal reached the quarterfinals of the New Zealand International 2013 Squash Championship currently underway at Palmerston North after disposing off Australian Justin Beard in straight games on Friday. Talking to The Nation Pakistan squash team’s head coach Jamshed Gul was full of praise for his young gun and said he was very confident that Nasir, with due course of time, would break into top 20 just like he did by breaking into top 50 in PSA rankings. Nasir was in sublime form and never allowed his much experienced Aussie opponent any chance to settle down in the match. It took just 36 minutes to Nasir to win the encounter and set a quarterfinal date with the top seed Scottish opponent Alan Clyne. Nasir won 11/8, 11-7, 12-10.–Staff Reporter
