LAHORE - Lahore Qalandars owner Fawad Rana has promised to make a strong comeback in the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Talking to this scribe, Fawad said that the purpose of participating in the inaugural PSL was to improve the quality of cricket, help the cricket board and provide a platform to youngsters to improve their skills and game. “This time, we have planned to give more chances to the youngsters to exhibit their prowess during the second edition of the PSL so that they may excel and get opportunity to represent their country at international level.”
“We want to help the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in promoting the game in educational institutions as well as at regional level. We will not only establish a secretariat here but also form a separate department of cricket operations to facility our youngsters to larger extent as this help the PCB flourish the game further,” he added.
Fawad said that although they couldn’t produce better results in the first edition of the PSL, yet they were committed to make the second edition a remarkable one. “We are not sad over the last performance, rather we are geared up for the next edition, where our players will prevail and won not only the matches but also the hearts of the entire nation.”
Azhar Ali’s captaincy is in danger after Sarfraz was appointed T20 captain and also strong candidate for the ODI captaincy. But Fawad backed Azhar as Qalandar’s captain saying last time, he didn’t get time to unite the team. “I hope this time, Azhar will succeed in uniting his team, which under his captaincy will prepare well for the event and try to give their best to get desired results.”
