Biased umpiring costs Islamabad win

ISLAMABAD - Biased and partial umpiring denied Islamabad to inflict sure shot win against Peshawar in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Super Eight-Stage Group-A match here at National Ground. Islamabad were cruising towards victory as they just required eight further runs to win, but umpires allowed Peshawar to use all the dirty tricks as they, sensing defeat, used delaying tactics and wasted too much time. All was done with the full support of on field umpires Javed Ashraf and Aftab Gilani, who played very negative role, helping Peshawar in getting away with the defeat. Islamabad requiring 377-run for win reached 369-6 in 75 overs, when umpires called off play sighting bad light. The PCB must take strong action on umpires’ negative role, who denied Islamabad of almost confirmed victory.–Staff Reporter
