ISLAMABAD – A week-long Subh-e-Nau National Clay Tennis Championship will begin from Jan 15 at PTF Tennis Complex. Talking to The Nation, Subh-e-Nau (SN) chairperson Shahida Kauser Farooq said the tournament aimed at promoting tennis on grassroots level. “The event will feature players in men's singles, doubles, junior U-18 singles and boys U-14 singles categories. Top seeded players of the country will take part in the event carrying a cash prize of Rs 200,000 and outstation players will be given dailies and also provided with accommodation,” she added. “Mahvish Chishtie will be the tournament coordinator. Interested players can contact tournament referee Shehzad Akhter Alvi for entries and also Moaz Javed.” The finals of the event will be played on Jan 20.–Staff Reporter
