All set to hold 3rd SAFF Women Soccer Championship

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) secretary Col (R) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi Saturday announced arrangements for holding 3rd SAFF Women Soccer Championship 2014 in befitting manner are completed. Lodhi said all the eight teams have confirmed their participation in the event, which would be first of its kind in the history of Pakistan women soccer.
Afghanistan team had already arrived, while three teams will reach late Saturday night. Indian team would be issued visas on 10th. The championship would commence from 11th at Jinnah Stadium. The organiserr have delayed India’s matches on their request.
Lodhi said they had written letters to CDA to ensure school, colleges' students presence during the matches. “We have also ensured special persons would also be present at the venue and engage Special education directorate in this regard. We would provide fool proof security to all the visiting teams from arrival till departure.” He also thanked IPC Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada and said without his active help and unconditional support, the PFF could not have even thought about conducting the event in Islamabad.
He said a total of 240 players and officials of participating teams would reside at the PSB hostels and DG PSB has ensured top quality meals would be provided to players, officials and promised same facilities would be given, which were earlier enjoyed by Pakistan Hockey team. IPC Minister would be the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony while Asian Football Federation president Prince Suleman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa would be the chief guest at concluding ceremony.
