PCB unaware of Yasir's omission

LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board has clarified that it has not imposed any ban on Yasir Hameed in the National T20 Championship after the batsman was ignored by his home regions for the event. The PCB has not advised any affiliated association, taking part in the championship, to ignore Yasir for selection, PCB spokesman Nadeem Sarwar said. He is free to play from any team, but selection of teams is the prerogative of the associations and PCB has nothing to do with it, he said. Yasir had confirmed that neither his home team Peshawar, nor his adopted team Abbotabad had named him in their squads for the popular tournament, which will start from October 10 in Lahore. The President of the Peshawar association, Syed Fayyaz, explained they had not picked Yasir on technical grounds.
