MUMBAI - With the appointment of Waqar Younis as coach of the Pakistan team, the players will be at ease and the language problem which Waqar's predecessor Dav Whatmore had admitted it being barrier, has been resolved.
Richard Pybus, the former coach endorses Whatmore's views. Speaking exclusively, Pybus says, "Yes, language did become a barrier when the team changed and a group of younger players came in who had little English and had not played overseas".
"The previous generation of Wasim, Waqar, Saeed, Saqlain etc had toured and played a lot overseas, they were easy to work with, primarily because they're English was good", he added. "I had decided after this experience if I were in that situation again, I would use an interpreter like the soccer managers do, they coach players from all over the world with multiple languages in one dressing room", Pybus concluded.
