Pakistan's top Twenty20 Cricket Tournament involving regional teams has been shifted to Karachi from Multan due to flood and heavy rains. The event was to be held at Multan International Cricket Stadium from September 15 but will now be staged at the National Stadium from September 17 to 28. "Considering the current situation we are shifting the event to from Multan to Karachi," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman said on Tuesday.
"Apart from rains and subsequent flooding, the police and district administration had informed the PCB that owing to their engagement in flood relief duties, it was difficult for them to provide foolproof security to the event,” PCB statement said. Lahore Lions will be defending their crown in the 12-day competition with final on September 28. Other teams taking part in the event included Sialkot Stallions, Abbotabad Falcons, Bahawalpur Stags, Islamabad Leopards, Multan Tigers, Quetta Bears, Lahore Eagles, Karachi Dolphins, Karachi Zebras, Faisalabad Wolves, Hyderabad Hawks, Peshawar Panthers, Rawalpindi Rams.  In the meantime, the management of National Stadium Karachi (NSK) has launched facing lifting plan for holding this popular event. "We have made all contingency plans in case of rains," NSK manager Arshad Khan said.
He said a square of five pitches was ready to hold to hold these matches. “Cleaning in around the stadium in the stands has been launched and it will be in top shape in few days.”
