Mohsin Sheikh named as Australia A assistant coach

LAHORE Mohsin Sheikh, a coach discarded by the PCB, has got an assistant coachs job with the Australia A team for their upcoming home series against Sri Lanka. Sheikh, who will assist former Australian captain Greg Chappell, was sacked by the previous PCB management as coach of the National Cricket Academy. Sheikh, an Australian born coach, was brought in by former PCB chief operating officer Salim Altaf to work at the academy with under-19 players. However, after having his salary and powers reduced, he preferred to leave and was subsequently sacked by the board. Sheikh ended up first working as an analyst for the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL and is now working as assistant coach to Chappell, an official of the board said.
