Governor’s Cup Cricket starts today

LAHORE – The 10th State Bank Governor’s Cup Super Series Cricket Tournament will commence from today (Tuesday). Players participating in the tournament belong to various banks including State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) BSC field offices while young cricketing talent hired by banks are also playing in it. The finalists of each region and previous year’s are taking part in the Super Series. The final will be held on March 21 here at Bagh-e-Jinnah ground. SBP Acting Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra will be chief guest on the occasion. The tournament is in continuation of the SBP Governor Cup held at five different regions - Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. There are cash prizes of Rs 100,000 for winners and Rs 50,000 for runners-up.  The tournament will be played under PCB’s T20 rules/conditions.–Staff Reporter
