Sadia upsets top seeds in National Squash

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's promising female player Sadia Gul made two upsets in single day as she reached the KPK Women National Squash Championship semifinals at Hashim Khan Squash Complex, Peshawar on Thursday. In the first round match, Sadia upset third seed Muqadas Ashraf, champion of recently-concluded DG Rangers Cup, 3-1. Sadia won the first game 11-9, was down 1-9 in the second but staged a comeback to win it 11-9. She lost the third 6-11 but won the fourth 11-5 to book a place in the quarterfinals where she beat Riffat Khan 3-0 with the score 11-8, 11-8, 11-8. She will now face Roshna Mehboob in the semifinals today (Friday). –Staff Reporter
