LAHORE Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee chairman Mohsin Hassan Khan Monday said the main aim of the camp was to make the players mentally strong and remove their mistakes that hinders them to play big innings during the international matches. Talking to mediamen here at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Mohsin Khan said it was the seventh day of the PCB Fast Track Coaching Programme for fast bowlers and batsmen in which the players were learning a lot and getting chance to rectify their technique under the able supervision of experienced coaches Sarfraz Nawaz, Ijaz Ahmad and Mansoor Rana. I am satisfied with the players performance during the camp but the real outcome can be seen during the international matches where they will get chance to exhibit their prowess and it will be the time when we will see who learnt what during the camp, he added. He said that top class batsmen were the part of the national team and most of them were youngsters except some seniors. We are working on youngsters like Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali who are able to score more than 100 in an innings but due to some mistakes and immaturity, they are mostly bowled out on around 40, 50 runs. Only Taufeeq Umar is a bit mature among them but he too is not playing a big innings. By making them mentally strong, we can help them to play big and extra-ordinary innings and so that they can exhibit their prowess in the international matches and can easily handle the pressure during the big matches, Mohsin concluded.
