PCB to rope in Shoaib Akhtar as bowling consultant

LAHORE -  The PCB is trying to rope in former speedster Shoaib Akhtar in its set-up to polish the skills of young fast bowlers in the National Cricket Academy. According to sources, Akhtar has agreed to the proposal and now both parties are in talks to finalise the contract. Former Test batsman M Yousaf has already joined the NCA as batting consultant and the PCB is also pondering the names of Tauseef Ahmed for off-spinners and Mushtaq Ahmed for leg-spinners mentoring. Meanwhile, a cricket stadium by the name of Test cricketer Younus Khan would also be inaugurated in Miranshah in North Waziristan Agency. The Younus Khan Cricket Stadium has been built by the Pakistan Army and an exhibition match will be played between Pakistan Army and PCB’s cricket teams on the eve of its inauguration. The construction of stadium is the result of success of Zarb-e-Azb operation that cleared the area from the terrorists and an effort to involve the tribal areas youth in healthy sporting activities.
