ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) president Syed Kaleem Imam Thursday announced the Pakistan Davis Cup team for the Davis Cup tie against Vietnam to be held from February 14-16, 2014 in Vietnam. The team was named after the trials held under the chairmanship of PTF patron Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, and members Nadir Mumtaz, M Arif Qureshi, Mushaf Zia and Khalil Chughtai and in consultation with Khawaja Saeed Hai. The members of Davis Cup team are Aisamul Haq Qureshi, Aqeel Khan, Yasir Khan and M Abid while Usman Ejaz and Ahmed Ch are standby subject to their fitness. M Khalid will be non-playing captain for the tie. The training camp will be held in the last week of January. Meanwhile, PTF will hold Pakistan Fed Cup team trials from December 20 at PTF tennis complex. The PTF chief constituted the selection committee which included Naidr Mumtaz (chairman), Majid Bashir, Inamul Haq, Fazal-e-Subhan, Nouman Aleem and Arif Qureshi (members) and Shahzad Akhtar Alvi (referee). Pakistan Fed Cup team will participate in the Fed Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II to be held at Astana, Kazakhstan in the first week of February 2014. Interested players are advised to report at PTF Tennis Complex on Dec 20 at 10am positively.
