LAHORE - Allama Iqbal XI scored a narrow 3-2 win over Quaid-e-Azam XI to win the Independence Day exhibition match held by the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) here on Tuesday at National Hockey Stadium.
Umair Aziz was the star performer from the winners with a sterling performance of netting a hat trick scoring goals in the 21st, 52nd and 54th minutes before giving his side 1-0 lead at interval. Abid Bhatti slammed two goals from Quaid XI in the 51st and 53rd minutes. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs M Saqib Aziz was the chief guest on the occasion while Director General SBP Dr M Saleh Tahir was also present on the occasion.
