Dream debut against India

FARIDABAD (India) – Debutant right arm off spinner Anis Afridi sets a new mark in the first ever One Day International against the Indian handicapped team by grabbing 6/29 in his six overs here at Nehar Singh Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Talking to this scribe Anis said: “It was my dream to represent country despite my disability, but thanks to God and PCAPH, they provided me with an opportunity to fulfil my dream by providing a chance to represent Pakistan and that too against arch-rivals India at their own backyard.
Anis said, when he was told by the team management that he will make debut against India on Saturday, he bows down to pay thanks to Allah. The skipper handed him ball to bowl a spell and he just look up to the sky and he was sure that God will help him. “I bowled the first over without giving away much runs that boosted my morale and began to believe that I can do the job and that was the time I never looked back and by the grace of God I managed to pick 6 wickets in my first ODI against the mighty Indian batting.
“I am grateful to the team management, captain for providing me this chance and especially my teammates who bucked me for all the time, he concluded.
