FARIDABAD (India) – Pakistani batsmen spoiled all the good work done by the debutant bowler Anis Afridi as they were bowled out for 145 runs while chasing 170 runs for victory against India in the final ODI here at Raja Nehar Singh Stadium on Saturday.
Pakistan had already won the Satyug Darshan Trust Indo-Pak Physically Challenged Cricket Series by 2-1. Pakistan needed 170 runs for victory but openers again failed to deliver for Pakistan and went out cheaply. Anis Afridi was clean bowled without disturbing the scorers while Adeel Khan, flopped again and failed to impress with the bat as he was run out while stealing a sharp single which was not there. Tauqeer was caught at covers at the total of 34, Pakistan hopes of registering whitewash against India were blown away. Saqib Inayat, who was known for throwing his wicket away by getting run out, once again dejected again. Pakistan were tottering at 44 for 4.
Skipper Fayyaz also once again disappointed as he tried to play a cross-batted shot and missed it and was bowled when Pakistan score was 75. Asad Laghari caught at short midwicket. He scored 36 runs. Asad wasted too many deliveries and involved in two run outs played vital roles in Pakistan defeat as Pakistan were bolded out for 145 in 28.2 overs and lost the match by 24 runs.
Pakistan should blamed themselves for the match because of poor planning of team management and defensive approach of the captain Fayyaz who despite winning the toss for the second time instead of batting preferred bowling first.
Fayyaz poor changes decisions and field placings and coward captaincy cost Pakistan dearly. Fayyaz failed with bat and ball and reshuffle in batting orders to benefit his blue eyed players.
Ravi Patel and Abdul Khalik picked up two wickets.
Earlier Pakistan winning the toss opted to bowl first, and his decision backfired as Indian openers Ravi and Deepak took full advantage and toy with the Pakistan bowlers and put 66 runs before Deepak went out after scoring 34 runs.
Indians suffered the second loss at the total of 87 when Anis Afridi got Tusar out when his score was 14 runs. Ravi on the other hand frustrated Pakistan bowlers and at that time Indians were all set to post a big total of the series.
Anis Afridi had wrecked Indian batting and restricted them for 169 all out in 28.4 overs, Ravi made 57, Deepak 34 and Sarang 25 were the other notable scorers.
For Pakistan Anis Afridi bowled superbly and got 6/29 while Shujaat Muzaffar 2/28 also bowled well. Rotary Club Faridabad Greater president Sumant Awastey was the chief guest on the occasion, later he distributed prizes among the players, Anis Afridi was adjusted man of the match for his superb bowling.
Pakistan will take on India in the one off T/20 international today at Satyug Darshan Trust cricket ground, the final prize distribution ceremony will also be held there, Pakistan will be awarded a cash prize of Indian rupees 1 lack along with a trophy, while Pakistani players who took all the three man of the match awards also won Indian Rs 30,000 cash.
