LAHORE – The trials for the selection of national women weightlifting team will start today (Wednesday) here at Railway Stadium Ghari Shahu. The selected team will feature in upcoming Punjab International Sports Festival (PISF) 2015 scheduled to be organised next month in various cities of Punjab. The female players from across the country will participate in the trials after which 16 players will be shortlisted for month-long camp training. After hectic camp activity, an eight-member national women weightlifting team will be chosen for the mega event. The selection committee comprising Rashed Malik, Awais Aakbar, Hafiz Imran Butt and other officials will observe the trials and camp training proceedings. SBP assistant director Waqas Akbar will monitor the entire camp activities.
