ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan has successfully undergone heart surgery in Britain and is recovering in hospital.
Khan, who reached England during the fourth week of August directly from Sri Lanka where he was elected as the Asian Cricket Council chairman, felt breathing problems following which he went through some medical tests that suggested a surgery.
“The chairman has successfully undergone a heart surgery in England and is now recuperating in the hospital; he is expected to return home early after the final medical advice,” a PCB spokesman said.
After the surgery, it will take at least two weeks for Khan to fully recover and start travelling.
Meanwhile, Khan has sent greetings to Team Pakistan on the eve of Eid Al Adha.
In his message, he lauded the team on completing a successful tour to England and said, the Test squad being named the top team in the ICC rankings was the highlight of the tour.
On top of it, the tour ended with praise all around from the British public and knowledgeable cricketers, he said.
