ISLAMABAD - Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and HEC enjoyed comfortable victories in the Seventh National Women Cricket Championship Pool A and Pool C matches played here at Rawalpindi and Islamabad grounds on Thursday. In the first match of Pool A at National ground between Islamabad and Quetta Regions, Islamabad Region, batting first, made 219 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. Diana Baig made unbeaten 51, Nazish Akram 47 and Uzma Kanwal 32. Naheeda Khan and Rubeena Kousar took two wickets each. In reply, Quetta Region were bundled out for 167 runs in 39.5 overs with Naheeda Khan scoring 76 runs. Rabail Khali and Diana Baig took three wickets each while Faiza Khalid got 2-10. Diana Baig was named player of the match. In the second match played at Marghazar ground between Lahore and Multan Regions, Lahore beat Multan Region by 20 runs. In the Pool C match played at KRL ground between Karachi and Faisalabad Regions, Karachi Region, made 225 runs for the loss of six wickets. In reply, Faisalabad were bowled out for a meager 104 runs in 37.3 overs. In the fourth of Pool C played between Hyderabad Region and HEC, Hyderabad were bundled out for a partly 70 runs in 39 overs. HEC, in reply, achieved the target in 13 overs losing only two wickets.
