Sarwar maintains lead in Chief of Naval Staff Golf

ISLAMABAD Ahmed Sarwar of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) maintained his lead in the ongoing 4th Chief of Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cup 2010 with 128 net score after completing 36 holes game here at Islamabad Golf Club on Saturday. On the second day of the tournament, Ahmed Sarwar, who was leading with 68 net score on Friday after 18 holes game, displayed excellent skills of the game and finished the day with a total net score 128. Danyal Jehangir and Wing Cdr (retd) Khokhar shared the second spot with a total net score of 137 each. In gross, Danyal Jehangir was on top while Tariq was crawling behind him. Meanwhile, in junior category, Master Minhaj Warraich won the title with 63 net score while Master Hamza Khan remained second with 67 net in an 18 holes fixture. In junior gross, Master Fawad Tirmizi earned top position with 77 score while Master Aman Tariq claimed second place with 78 gross score. Amateur title will be decided on Sunday (today) as the golfers will play an 18 holes game to complete the 54 holes of the match at same venue. The closing ceremony will be taken place on Sunday (today) and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir will grace the occasion to disburse the prizes among the top golfers.
