Islamabad sense win in Quaid Trophy

OUR STAFF REPORTER KARACHI - Karachi Blues have to put up a gritty fight to avoid defeat at the hands of Islamabad in the 11th round of the Quadie Azam Trophy division match after the visitors gained big first innings lead on the penultimate day of the four day contest here Friday at the National stadium. With full days play remaining on Saturday, Karachi Blues, who were trailing by 134 runs, are still five runs from levelling the score. Karachi Blues were 129 for four at the close of the third days play. Earlier, Islamabad added 97 more runs to their overnight score of 301-6 to finished the innings at 398 and gained 139 runs lead. Zohaib Ahmed 66 and M Ijaz 51 boosted Islamabad first innings total. Karachis Azam Hussain finished with five for 85. In the second innings, assisted by a half century from Asad Baig and 28 from Faraz Patel Karachi reached 129 for four.
