Haroon Rashid of Wapda wins eighth stage

LAHORE - Haroon Rashid of Wapda won the eighth stage from Sahiwal to Lahore in the 16th Tour-de-Pakistan International Cycle Race here on Wednesday. The eighth stage of the 16th Tour-de-Pakistan International Cycle Race paddle off from Sahiwal to Lahore. Haroon Rashid of Wapda won the stage covering the distance of 178 kilometres in 3h,44m,01s. As many as 46 cyclists took part in the race. Chief guest for the opening ceremony at Sahiwal was M Rashid, Divisional Sports Officer with Ch Zaheer, District Sports Officer Sahiwal, members of District Cycling Association Sahiwal also see off the race. DO Multan Ch Muhammad Talib welcome the cycle race at Lahore at finish point. It was excellent arrangement of the National Highway Police. The eighth stage prize distribution ceremony will be held here at National Hockey Stadium at 7:30 pm. Syed Shahid Ali IOC Member in Pakistan will be chief guest and distribute the medals. Thursday (today) is rest day at Lahore and cyclists will move toward Gujrat from Lahore for the ninth stage on March 18.
