NZ win toss, send Sri Lanka to bat in 1st test

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and sent Sri Lanka to bat in the first cricket test at Galle International Stadium on Tuesday. The match will 90 minutes behind schedule due to a wet outfield caused by overnight rain. Sri Lanka is boosted by the return of offspinner Muttiah Muralitharan who sat out the previous series against Pakistan with a knee injury. Regular wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardena is also back in side after an injury, while Tillakaratne Dilshan, who kept wicket in the absence of Jayawardena, will open the batting in place of out-of-form Malinda Warnapura.
