Faisal seeks security to hold AFC event


LAHORE - Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) president Faisal Saleh Hayat called for foolproof security cover to the AFC U-16 Football Championship Qualifiers Round. The international event is scheduled to stage from September 23 at Karachi. Faisal said the federation had got the chance to oragnise the event at a time when the country had been facing a fresh spate of terrorism. He added the event could also be arranged in Punjab over security concerns and also sought Punjab government help in this regard. He made an appeal to Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif to step into this matter to get it resolved. “The prime minister should help the federation to revive sports activities in the country as such event will help provide sports loving fans an opportunity to witness international players action in home grounds.” –Staff Reporter
