Moin lifts CAS Veterans Golf title


LAHORE - Squadron leader Moin clinched the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Veterans Golf Championship title at Lahore Garrison Golf and Country Club here on Saturday. Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
Moin showed precision and skills to win the coveted trophy in the veteran's gross category. In the senior's category, Air Marshal Asim Suleman, Air Marshal Farhat Hussain and Air Vice Marshal M Arif took away the first, second and third net prizes, respectively. In gross, first, second and third slots were picked by Air Vice Marshal Arshad Quddus, Air Marshal Athar Bokhari and Air Vice Marshal Ashfaq Arain. The prize for the longest drive was won by Air Chief Rao Qamar and nearest to pin was won by Air Vice Marshal Hafizullah.
In the amateur category, Wing Commander Zafar Khan, Squadron Leader Saqib and Wing Commander Zahid Qureshi picked up the first, second and third net prizes while first, second and third gross were taken away by Wing Commander Ikram Noor, Wing Commander Umar Bin Zahid and Squadron Leader Atif H Khan respectively. The prize for the longest drive was won by Group Captain Tariq Zaheer and nearest to pin by Wing Commander Ronald Afzal.
In the veteran's category, Group Captain Arshad Mehmood, Group Captain Majeed Shafqat and Air Commodore Zulfiqar Haider won the first, second and third net prizes, while the prizes for first, second and third gross went to Squadron Leader Moin, Wing Commander Nafey Barki and Wing Commander I N Khokhar, respectively. The longest drive was hit by Wing Commander Pervez Saeed Mir and closest to pin by Group Captain Khalid Mehmood. In the guest category, Lt Colonel Amir Hassan and Lt Colonel Namdar Naseer won the prizes for first and second net, whereas first and second gross were picked up by Nosherwan Aslam and Colonel Zaheer.
CAS Veterans Golf Championship is an annual fixture, which aims at offering an opportunity to the serving PAF golfers in interacting with their veteran counterparts and promoting healthy sports activity. Later the Rao Qamar gave away trophies and prizes to the performers.
