COLOMBO - Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene says the national team and administrators have settled a dispute over central contracts ending a potential boycott of top local players in the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League next month.
Jayawardene said his players will sign their contracts before they leave for Hambantota on Thursday for a five-match one-day international series against India. Jayawardene warned this week that Sri Lanka cricketers might not take part in the SLPL because of disagreements over the player contracts offered by cricket authorities.
Sri Lanka Cricket has been widely criticized for mismanagement and corruption and delaying payment to the players.
