Sports Ministry releases funds for junior snooker team

KARACHI The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association has thanked the ministry of sports for releasing much-needed funds to send Pakistan junior 21 snooker team to Asia Cup to be played in Indore (India) early next month. In a news release issued here, the PBSA stated that 50% amount of the submitted budget for the participation of the Pakistan junior team in the above event has been released. The executive committee of the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association wish to place on record their appreciation for the secretary sports Anisul Hasnain Musavi and the Director General Pakistan Sports Board Amir Hamza Gilani for their kind patronage and cooperation extended to the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association. As the PBSA has confirmed an additional entry of Asjad Iqbal (runner-up nationals-2010) in the above event. The association will be requesting the private donors MD of NJI Tahir Ahmed, Jehangir Anwar and Abdul Qadir Memon who have agreed to sponsor for the total expenditure of Asjad Iqbal. In this regard, the PBSA wish to mention that International exposure to our junior players as well as the senior players is necessary for which the association requires funds so that our players can be groomed to obtain the desired results and bring laurels for our beloved country.
