ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) president Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt awarded Rs 50,000 to each member of the gold medal winning squash team and head coach Jamshed Gul here at the at Air headquarters on Tuesday.
Pakistan boys' team comprising Ali Bukhari, Tayyab Aslam, Ammad Fareed and Bilal Zakir produced excellent results in the recently-concluded Asian Junior Team Squash Championship in Seoul, Korea and also defeated arch-rivals India 2-0 in the final. The PSF chief appreciated the performance of the team and said this victory would help in bringing back the lost glories in the squash. He also expressed his satisfaction on the performance of girls' team, which finished fifth out of the eight participating teams.
“With more international exposure, Pakistani girls will improve their standing at the international level in the coming days and will give same performances, which the male players had given and won laurels for the country,” he concluded.
