Muhammad Hafeez passes the bowling action test

MANILA- Pakistan right-arm off-spinner Muhammad Hafeez has cleared the bowling action test. Pakistani women cricket team off-spinner Javeria Wadood also cleared her bowling action test.

The 33-year-old was expected to undergo official testing before the start of the 2015 World Cup in Sydney, but a hamstring injury forced him to miss the test and the rest of the tournament as he was sent back by the touring selection committee and was replaced by Nasir Jamshed.

During the first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand in the UAE last year, Hafeez was reported for suspect bowling action by the umpires and was put through an independent biomechanical analysis at the National Cricket Performance Center in Loughborough on November 24, 2014.

The test concluded that Hafeez’s elbow extension exceeded the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted by the ICC regulations and was thus declared illegal.
