Punjab in driving seat in Pentangular Cup final


LAHORE – M Khalil and Bilawal Bhatti’s brilliant bowling put Punjab in driving seat on the third day of the Faysal Bank Pentangular Cup final match here at the Gaddafi Stadium.
At the stumps of the third day, Punjab managed 30 runs for no loss in 5.5 overs.
Sindh resumed their first innings with the overnight score of 36-4 in 7.2 overs. They were bowled out for 235 runs in 63.1 overs with Faraz Ahmed (48), Fahad Iqbal (44) and Ali Asad (33*) put some resistance. Khalil  grabbed five wickets for 73 runs while Bilawal got four for 79.
Earlier in their first innings, Punjab piled up a huge total of 496 runs in 155.2 overs. Aamir Sajjad played superb innings of 252. Usman Salahuddin also played well and managed 57 runs while Taufeeq Umer added 51. Danish Kaneria was though very expensive bowler for Sindh team but clinched six wickets for 160 while Faraz Ahmed took two for 116 runs.
