Najam Sethi has been restored as the PCB chairman by the Supreme Court today. The SC has suspended the decision to reinstate the former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf.
The acting Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, a three-member bench of the top court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case today.
On the 17th of this month, the Islamabad High Court had reinstated Ashraf as the PCB chairman. Justice Noorul Haq had termed Ashraf’s removal illegal, and raised doubts about the formation of the management committee that worked under Sethi.
The government had appealed to the Supreme Court yesterday to reinstate Sethi as the head of PCB. Ashraf and Sethi have both been removed and reinstated three times in a row.
