Miandad sees Test series comeback to form for Misbah

ISLAMABAD - Legendary Batsman Javed Miandad sees Pakistan-Australia Test series as a comeback for Misbah-ul-Haq saying the captain should aim in winning the series and regain his lost form.
Pakistan will play two Tests against Australia between October 22 and November 3, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Talking to APP, Miandad advised Misbah to not repeat mistakes in the Tests that were made in the ODI series saying defeating Aussies won't be easy as they had already gained confidence from the win in the ODI series and the Twenty-20 match.
Miandad said Misbah needed to act bravely in his captaincy. "He should take brave decisions now," he said adding the absence of Saeed Ajmal is hurting Pakistan and I don't know who will take 20 wickets in Test matches. “Our batsmen need to stick to the crease and at least score 50's. The team's performance relies on the individual performance of the players and each player should play for their country," he said.
“Our players play well in one game and then flop in the next three games. Misbah used to score and bring Pakistan out of trouble in the past but now he is failing to do so due to his own bad form.”
However, everything else around him has remained the same," he said.
Miandad said the selectors and team management need to understand of what strengths are needed to support the batting lineup. "If a player is to be named in the squad or a captain is to be selected, the person(s) in focus should undergo an appropriate process by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during which the individual should be interviewed on his IQ, and on how he can play his role in improving the team. Only then appointments should be made," Miandad concluded.
